Media Training on Ebola Vaccine Trials

Following the recent misconceptions and misinformation about the Ebola vaccine trials set to take place in Ghana, AMMREN, under its AMMREN Plus initiative, sought to build the capacity of journalists in Ho and Hohoe, where the vaccine trials is expected to take place, to equip the media to successfully carry out a sustained advocacy and awareness programme on the trials based on the need for Ghanaians to be informed and prepared against the disease, in the light of the recent outbreak of Ebola in the West African sub-region. AMMREN therefore sought for sponsorship to carry a media training programme for twenty four journalists from Hohoe and Ho in the Volta region. The participants, drawn from the print and electronic media, were brought together for a two-day training programme on the Ebola vaccine trials in the Hohoe Municipality in July, 2015.
