Environmental communication program seeks mentees, mentors (Worldwide)

Budding and experienced environmental journalists can participate in this program. Ensia, a

nonprofit magazine that focuses on environmental challenges and solutions to a global audience,

is accepting candidates for the Ensia Mentor Program. The program offers aspiring

environmental journalists an opportunity to build their communication skills and professional

network by creating an article, video, image gallery, infographic or other work on a topic of their

choice for Ensia under the guidance of an experienced communicator. Mentees and mentors

receive US$600 and US$400, respectively, per assignment

Travel scholarships available for workshop (Africa, China)

African and Chinese journalists are invited to apply to attend this workshop. The Africa-China Reporting Project at Wits Journalism and the Oxfam Africa-China Dialogue Platform are organizing the workshop "Reporting Africa-China engagements in agriculture, industrialization and sustainable development" Aug. 23 to 25 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.The workshop aims to equip journalists with knowledge, skills and training for covering current Africa-China relations. Topics include the sectors of agriculture and industrialization or manufacturing.  Twenty participants will receive airfare, accomodations and meals. The Wits Africa-China Project will also financially support selected journalists to do fieldwork on specific stories after the workshop.
