World Malaria Day
Three AMMREN chapters – Senegal, The Gambia and Ghana, commemorated the 2014 World Malaria Day
Other 2014 activities
• AMMREN hold a health forum in February to start the AMMREN Plus initiative and open a student chapter at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) in Accra
• The GIJ chapter visits the Dodowa Health Research Centre for an updates on health research in October
• AMMREN in collaboration with the MalariaCare Project in Ghana organized a media sensitization workshop on malaria in Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region in August
• As part of the media sensitization workshop on malaria in Dodowa, a field trip was organized to Shai-Osudoku district hospital in the Greater Accra Region
• An AMMREN Plus health forum was held on September in Accra to deliberate on emerging health issues such as Ebola and non-communicable diseases and their impact on the health outcomes on communities in Africa
